Yew Toh qualified from Flinders University. He trained in general surgery and vascular surgery in the United Kingdom (Yorkshire and East Anglian Deanery) and the USA (Lahey Clinic). He completed two vascular surgery fellowships, a year in Perth and two years in Adelaide. He had completed advanced endovascular peripheral interventions course at the University of Michigan Medical Centre and advanced endovascular aortic intervention diploma with University of Lille in France.
Dr Wong is currently a Consultant Vascular & Endovascular Surgeon at the Flinders Medical Centre. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Vascular Surgery at the Flinders University. He continues to be active in clinical research and teaching.
Dr Wong’s practice encompasses the full range of vascular surgical conditions. His areas of particular clinical interest are aortic aneurysm, carotid disease, diabetes limb salvage, renal access surgery, renal artery stenting, varicose veins, venous stenting, IVC filter, retroperitoneal lymph nodes dissection & inferior vena cava surgery. He also has a strong interest in the application of carbon dioxide angiography and ultrasound in guiding endovascular treatment to avoid contrast nephrotoxicity.
